Our Approach

At Matchbook Learning, we believe that technology should enhance instruction, personalize learning, and prepare students for success beyond the classroom. Our core academic curriculum is delivered through Savvas Realize, a dynamic digital hub that houses MyView (K–5), MyPerspectives (6–8), and enVision Math (K–8). This platform provides teachers and students with interactive lessons, assessments, and standards-aligned content across ELA, math, science, and social studies. To ensure all students receive the support they need, we use IXL to provide targeted, personalized practice and Tier 3 remediation in both math and reading. IXL’s diagnostics help teachers identify and close skill gaps while allowing students to work at their own pace and level. Together, these tools create a strong foundation for rigorous, differentiated instruction across all grades.

Beyond academics, we prepare students for life beyond K–8 through platforms that develop career awareness, digital skills, and executive functioning. PowerSchool serves as our student information system, supporting communication between school and home by tracking grades, attendance, behavior, and academic progress in real time. For college and career readiness, our students use Xello, an engaging platform that helps them explore future careers, set goals, and understand how their interests connect to real-world pathways. Additionally, we use CodeMonkey to introduce computer science and coding in a fun, game-based format that builds critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These tools work together to support the whole child—academically, socially, and for the future.

Preparing for the Learning Cycle

Learn

Our academic lead and our specialist collaborate with teachers on our curriculum units & standards reviews during professional learning communities (PLCS). We utilize data to inform our standards planning template which is aligned to common core standards and conceptual practice that allowing for both procedural and application based learning.

Find

We use formative assessment lesson samples from the Shell Center and modules from the Literacy Design collaborative to match unit standards and then we upload into Fuse Box (Mini-tasks as Practice Pieces & Module Tasks as Unit Apply)

Plan

During unit planning creation, we work together in PLCS to develop small groups based on data & aligned with literacy design collaborative and math design collaborative modules.

Assign

We organize and curate all into SPARK and then we assign units in Spark to students in order to personalize standards "bundles" via our playlists.

  • All middle school students who reside more than 1.25 miles from Matchbook Learning.school.
Medical Transportation Request:

Medical Transportation-Special transportation requests based on medical needs require approval from the IPS Health Services Director. The family will need to provide medical documentation to the school to begin this process.

Medical Transportation Requests require a student to have a medical condition/diagnosis that limits or significantly impacts their ability to physically walk to school/bus stop.

Medical Transportation Accommodations are NOT appropriate for mental or behavioral needs or for when a parent is unable to accompany a student. Consider a 504 for mental or behavioral health needs.

Medical Transportation Requests do not require an IEP or 504 however the student's needs in the school setting should be taken into account by school staff if a medical condition is limiting their ability to walk (are accommodations needed in gym, recess, etc). If a student already has special transportation written into their IEP you DO NOT need to complete this form.

Medical Transportation accommodations can be for short term (<8 wks) or long term (>8 wks), please identify length of time requesting in the reason for request.

A letter from a physician does NOT guarantee medical transportation approval, expectations should be set with the parents from the beginning that IPS reserves the right to approve or deny requests.

Transportation requests take 3-5 school days before a new bus route can be implemented. Please contact the school directly to receive more information: 317-226-4263
