Health & Safety

At Matchbook Learning, student and staff safety is our top priority. We are committed to creating a healthy, secure environment at both Wendell Phillips K–8 and The Match High School and Career Center.

Safety & Emergency Procedures

All visitors must check in with valid ID.

Regular drills (fire, lockdown, evacuation, etc.) are conducted throughout the year.

Staff supervise arrival, dismissal, and transitions to ensure student safety.

Health & Illness Guidelines

Students with fever, vomiting, or contagious symptoms should stay home until symptom-free for 24 hours without medication.

Classrooms and common areas are sanitized daily.

Hand hygiene is encouraged and supported.

Medication & Health Support

All medication must be administered by the school’s Nurse Practitioner or authorized staff with proper documentation.

Updated emergency contacts and health forms are required each school year.

Mental Health & Wellness

Social workers and counselors are available to support student well-being.

Staff are trained to recognize and respond to signs of emotional or behavioral concerns.

Bullying & Conduct

Bullying, harassment, and threats are not tolerated.

Reports are investigated promptly and confidentially.

Parent CommunicationFamilies will be notified of important health or safety updates via ParentSquare, phone, or email.

Health or safety concerns can be reported directly to school leadership.
