Matchbook has a comprehensive school design both in final “product” form in terms of what a Matchbook school would look like, but also as a “process” because Matchbook seeks to create its hybrid schools by redesigning and reframing existing turnaround targeted schools. Matchbook leverages our proprietary “hybrid conversion” process that converts an existing “turnaround” school into a hybrid school that blends both face-to-face and online instruction, leveraging online curriculums that are delivered to students in a 1:1 computing environment inside an otherwise standard bricks and mortar K-12 public school. This process involves 206 unique steps covering 4 distinct stages:
1. Planning (during the school year before launch of the hybrid school year)
2. Pre-Launch (summer before hybrid launch)
3. Launch (hybrid school launch and day-to-day running)
4. Evaluation (ongoing)
This 206 step process once implemented upon a turnaround school will create a hybrid school design “product” which will have certain critical elements that will be characteristic of and consistently found in every Matchbook school.
